Today we start a new challenge at Michelle Perkett Challenge Blog

We challenge you to make a girlie card/project with bling!

She is colored with copics and I colored her hair in blonde colors with the same technique as the Red Hair technique from last saturday post.

Marvelous Monday at Shelly's Images

TRICK OR TREAT!!!!

At Shelly's Images we're still playing with all the fun Halloween images that she has in the store!

And I think that she hit the Jackpot with this image!

It is so versatile to use!

I added it to a little paperbag so the kids can take it along the doors to collect their candy!

In deze Copic Event update: - Waar voor je geld - Avondprogramma - Teachers stellen zich voor Waar voor je geld De meeste vragen die wij momenteel over het Copic Event krijgen, is wat je nu precies terug krijgt voor de prijs die je voor het weekend betaalt. Ik zag Copics eigenlijk voor het eerst bij anderen op kaartjes. Ik volgde een aantal blogs en zag daar zulke mooie ingekleurde stempelafdrukjes dat ik eens ben gaan kijken hoe men deze had ingekleurd, met Copics dus. Niet lang daarna heb ik mijn eerste Copics gekocht. Wat is je favoriete Copic kleur(en), en waarom? Ik vind E71, E74 en E77 een erg mooie combinatie bij elkaar om bijvoorbeeld haren mee te kleuren. Wat is je favoriete Copic techniek, en waarom? De techniek die ik eigenlijk altijd gebruik is van licht naar donker. Dit past ook het beste op het papier wat ik gebruik, DCP papier. Welk merk of welk soort plaatjes kleur je het liefste in? Ik werk graag met stempels van The Greeting Farm en van C.C. Design. Beetje stoer en niet te fijntjes zeg maar. Waar kijk je het meeste naar uit op het Copic Event, en waarom? Het lijkt me enorm leuk om met allemaal Copic liefhebbers bezig te zijn met onze gezamelijke hobby! Iedereen om je heen komt voor hetzelfde, weet waar je het over hebt! Welke workshop zou je zelf het liefste volgen als het kon, en waarom? Ik zou zelf wel de workshop distressen met Copics willen volgen. Deze techniek heb ik nog nooit gedaan en zou daar dus zeker het nodige over kunnen leren! Wat wil je de lezers van de Copic Event site nog meegeven? Dat het volgens mij een ontzettend gezellig en leerzaam event gaat worden waar je gewoon bij moet zijn! Blog of webadres: http://www.scrapselkast.blogspot.com/ Christel geeft de volgende workshops: Zo 11.15 - 13.00 uur: Werken met de airbrush en je kunt Christel regelmatig vinden in de Copic winkel op het Copic Event! Naam:    Marion van Eijsden Hoe ben je met Copic in aanraking gekomen? Begin dit jaar kwam ik in aanraking met digitale stempels en het inkleuren hiervan. Eerst heb ik me toegelegd op het inkleuren met Derwent potloden. Maar op internet zag ik mensen Copic markers gebruiken en ik zag daar dat het inkleuren mooier van werd. Dus “moest” ik die stiften (oeps, zo noemde ik ze toen nog) ook hebben. Ik heb me op internet verdiept in de Copic markers en mijn eerste aanschaf gedaan. Gelukkig weet ik nu dat dit niet de makkelijkste manier is om te beginnen. Want de kleuren zijn in het echt heel anders dan wat je op de doppen of plaatjes ziet. Bovendien hangt het ook nog van het papier dat je gebruikt af. Dus voor mij duurde het even voor ik de juiste kleuren en technieken te pakken kreeg. Gelukkig kon ik met al deze vragen terecht bij Creabest en kreeg ik veel advies en hulp hier. Vooral op hun website hebben ze een enorme uitleg en handleiding voor de Copic markers. En nu mag ik mijzelf tot het designteam van Creabest rekenen. En daar ben ik heel trots op. Wat is je favoriete Copic kleur(en), en waarom? Ik heb meerdere favoriete kleuren. Dus is dit voor mij een lastige vraag. Maar de zachte lila tinten BV0000 en BV02 gebruik ik graag, evenals de roze rode tinten R81-R83-R85. Maar eerlijk gezegd heb ik in iedere kleurgroep wel favoriete kleuren. Ik ben nu echter bezig om ook eens niet direct deze kleuren te gebruiken maar ook andere kleuren en nuances te maken en gebruiken. Dat is een heerlijke uitdaging die verrassende kaarten en layouts opleveren.  Wat is je favoriete Copic techniek, en waarom?  Dit hangt af van de stempel die ik inkleur en wat voor afbeelding het is. Maar het kleine rondjes draaien en de veertechniek vind ik allebei geweldig om te gebruiken. Welk merk of welk soort plaatjes kleur je het liefste in? C.C. Designs, Cornish Heritage, Michelle Perkett images en Shelly’s Images zijn allemaal toch echt mijn favorieten.  Waar kijk je het meeste naar uit op het Copic Event, en waarom?  Ik kijk erg uit naar de workshops die ik mag gaan geven. Deze workshops laten ook de andere kanten van de mogelijkheden met de Copic markers zien. En ik hou ervan om van om mijzelf verder te ontwikkelen in technieken en materialen. Ook het zien van zoveel bekende en onbekende mensen die allemaal dezelfde voorliefde voor deze hobby hebben vind ik geweldig. Ik heb een kijkje in de keuken van het Copic Event, en eerlijk gezegd… Ik vind dat er zo’n grote diversiteit aan workshops zijn dat iedereen ze kan volgen. En dat wanneer je dit Event en de workshops hebt gevolgd je werkelijk het optimale uit je Copic markers kunt halen wat je plezier alleen nog maar meer zal vergroten en je nog blijer bent met de investering die je hebt gedaan bij de aanschaf van deze geweldige markers. Welke workshop zou je zelf het liefste volgen als het kon, en waarom? De workshop stoer. De markt wordt overstroomd met lieve en schattige kaartjes en stempels. Daar ben ik zelf ook een onderdeel van. Terwijl we ook vaders, zonen, opa’s of mannelijke vrienden hebben die we een kaart zouden kunnen sturen, en die dat ook zouden waarderen. Daarom vind ik het geweldig om in deze workshop te laten zien en anderen te leren hoe je dit kunt doen. Hoe je toch hele leuke stoere, lieve kaarten kunt maken waar je andere mensen blij mee kunt maken!  Wat wil je de lezers van de Copic Event site nog meegeven? Als je je al hebt ingeschreven en je workshops hebt gekozen, dan zul je zeker niet teleurgesteld worden. Maar er verrijkt met zoveel kennis, leuke projecten en materialen vandaan komt.dat je met het gevoel weggaat dat dit Event het dubbel en dwars waard is! Mocht je nog twijfelen… neem de stap en kom ervaren wat de mogelijkheden zijn met de Copic markers en hoe je zelf veel meer, leuker, anders, beter en mooiere dingen kunt creëren met deze markers. Daarnaast… mocht je nog geen Copic markers hebben omdat je nog niet weet of deze techniek en materiaal je liggen, dan is dit de uitgelezen manier om dat te ervaren voordat je de aanschaf doet. How to color Red Hair

How to color Red Hair:

I will try to show how I color red hair in an image.

Unfortunally I don’t have a video camera to film it so I did it step by step with photo’s. I hope that all is clear.

For this I use the imge from Michelle Perkett that is called Princess Oceana.

You all now her cause it’s the Logo of Michelle Perkett Studio.

 I use Copic Markers E08-E99-E97-E95

In this image I didn’t work to much with lightfall to keep it more simple!

If you are more experienced you can add this to this technique as well!

Of course there are many more varieties to color red hair.

Just print out a view images and practice and try out colors you like!

I start with the darkest color in this case E08. I look were the dark places in the hair are and color them. It’s mostly the parts were hair is coming from under other hair or when it comes from behind the shells and pearls in this case.

The next step is with copic color E99. I go over the E08 and make it a little larger.. this way the colors will blend a little. Don’t mind if the blending isn’t getting right yet.

We work on that later.

 ~~~

The next step is with the color E97… and we do the same as the step before this. We go over the E99 and a little further in the white areas. Again the blending is not good but we work on that later with our last color.

 ~~~

Now we take E95 and fill in the white spots that are left in the drawing.

When you do this you can go over all the colors. This way you take some color from the darker markers and spread it and blend all colors together.

Now the first layer of you image is colored with the first layer.

 ~~~

Then I will start again with the darkest color E08 and do all the steps over on some places in the hair to add more depth to the image. You can do this several times till you have the depth and color that you like.

I hope you all like this technique and I’m asking you to give it a try with al kind of colors for hair. It’s so much fun to do this. And if you don't get the result the first time... then do it again. I practiced a lot and many first try images ended up in the paper basket! So don't give up!

The weather over here is real autumn. Wet and Windy.

The leaves on the trees are starting to color to yellow and red.

A beautiful sight when the sun shines on them…

But in a few weeks the trees are empty and nature is preparing itself for winter.

My card this week for this challenge is inspired on what I see outside and I added TAGS to it. So this weeks challenge is going to about TAGS.

I used the airbrush and a screen to make the background of this card. I used different colors of brown and green.

The image is called:  Nuts about you

Next to that I made two tags and used two of Shelly’s Freebies on them.

The Acorn, the Maple leaf and the Oak leaf.

Have a Witchy Marvelous Monday!

Here's another monday... 

Days a flying by. I'm running around preparing things... go to the hospital and make cards for the blogs. And suddenly I realize that the evenings are there early... and that we are approching October already. Before you know it Halloween and thanksgiving are close by!

I'm so glad that Shelly's Images has her Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas images ready to work with. That keeps me on track with the hectic days.

Today we would love to put a spotlight on this wonderful and sweet image that is called:

Now is this little girl sweet or what? I had a great time coloring her...

but was in trouble cause we don't have halloween papers over here in The Netherlands.

I am so lucky that I have an Airbrush on loan so I could make my own background papers.

For my Dad

Spotlight Saturday:

Remember our Heroes!

Today I'm going to be a bit personal today and I hope you don't mind.

My Dad was in the Army and during that time he had a terrible accident with a shell bomb...

And ever since he is handicapped and traumatized from it. But even then our Rock to lean on!

 But my dear Dad is taken to the hospital on last Monday. And suddenly we realized that the Strong Rock we all rely on isn't as strong as we thought.

Now you wonder why I tell you all this.... 

Well, there are many men and boys all over the world that became handicapped or traumatized by any war or peace operation.

We see them every day and we easily forget their trauma or pain. 

I want to ask you to be more aware of this and just sent a card to a family member or acquaintance from who you know was in the Military and pay them a tribute with a card or project. Let's remember the veterans too!!!

And even now the American and Dutch boys are trying to get peace overseas.

 And I'm so glad and proud that
